International Indian Film Academy Awards in July

This year International Indian Film Academy Awards will be held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium Indoor Stadium in Colombo from July 2 to 4 July, 2010 Tourism minister of Sri Lanka disclosed that several countries had completed to host Sri Lanka , and international ceremony and he added that several such as an Indian business meeting would be held on the event’s sidelines.

VK Murthy honored with Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Vikalp Bengaluru has organized the Film Festival of VK Murthy, was honored by President Pratibha Patil with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 56th National Award ceremony on March 19, 2010.

There were renowned filmmakers invited like Govind Nihalani, his short film has been screening, biography of Uma Rao it was an open event. VK Muruthy is one of the renowned cinematographer of the Hindi Film industry, Chaudhvin Ka Chand and Pakeezah are some of his famous cinematograph and he has worked with famous directors like Pramod Chakraborthy, Shyam Benegal and Govind Nihalani.

IIFA at Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is going to host International Indian Film Academy Award (IIFA). This was a huge celebration for Indian Cinema, since 2000, it has been in a variety of international destination. Previous shows were held in United States, Malaysia, South Africa, Singapore and Thailand.

IIFA Awards will be held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium from 2 to 4 June. Sri Lanka has been chosen from amongst countries such as South Africa, Abu Dhabi, Australia and Korea to host this prestigious event.

The event will garner media coverage from over 400 media organizations worldwide. This event will provide massive opportunities for Sri Lanka and India to strengthen their trade and business ties.

4 Asian Film Awards ceremony.

Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan has receive the Lifetime Achievement Award during 4 Asian Film Awards ceremony. During his film career, he has received many national honors from the various governments and institutes.

56th National Film Awards

Cinematographer V.K. Murthy became the first technician to be awarded the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award at the 56th National Film Awards 2008. President Pratibha Patil presented the award to Mr. Murthy, who is best known for his works in classics like Pyaasa and Kaagaz Ke Phool.

Anirudh Roy Choudhary was presented the Swarna Kamal for directing Antaheen, the best feature film, while Neeraj Pandey and Ronnie Screwwala of UTV Motion Pictures were presented the Swarna Kamal as part of the Indira Gandhi Award for best first film, for A Wednesday (Hindi).

In the best actor category, Upendra Limaye walked away with the honours for his performance in Marathi film Jogva, and Priyanka Chopra took home the best female actor award for her role in Fashion.

The film also fetched Kangana Ranaut the award for best supporting woman actor. Arjun Rampal took home a Rajat Kamal for the best supporting actor in Rock On (Hindi).

Master Shams Patel was declared the best child artist for his role in Thanks Maa (Hindi). In the best singer’s category, the winners were Hariharan for Jogva and Shreya Ghoshal for Jogva and Antaheen.

The Nargis Dutt Award for best feature film on national integration was given to Assamese film Aai Kot Nai. Little Zizou was awarded the prize for best film on family values while Jogva was selected as the best film on social issues.

Abhaya Simha received the Swarna Kamal for his directorial debut Gubbachigalu (Kannada) in the best children's film category, while Jugal Hansraj was awarded the Swarna Kamal for his film Roadside Romeo in the best animation film category. The Special jury award went to Malayalam film Bioscope.

Bala, director of the Tamil film Naan Kadavul, won the best director award while the award for best cinematography went to Avik Mukhopadhyay for Antaheen.

King Khan receives FICCI Frames 2010 Excellence Award

Bollywood super hero Shahrukh Khan was received the Global Entertainment and media Personality award at the FICCI Frames 2010 Excellence Award on Thursday.
The Global Icon of the Year award was presented to Oscar winning music director A.R. Rahman. He was thankful to FICCI for the award.

Famous music director Pritam has received best director awards for Love Aaj Kal. Moreover, Ranbir Kapoor has won the best entertainment award.

Nandi Awards

Nandi awards were presented for the movies released in the year 2008; Arundhati has won most of all the awards because of her amazing work. Other movies are Gamyam, Neninthe, Nachavule, and Ready. Chief Minister presented the awards to the winners.

Big B honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

Bollywood Shanshaah Amitabh Bachchan is having is gala time, he has received Filmfare best Actor Award for his performance in Paa and he honored with the Lifetime Achievement at the sixth edition of Muscat International Film Festival.

Big B honored with Lifetime Achievement AwardBig names from around the world like Mohanlal, Resul Pookutty, Antonino Sucameli, Franko Nero and Masdah Azahbah will be attending the festival. Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi will be the president of the jury of the international section of films in competition.

Total 72 films from 20 countries will be screened at the film festival organized by the Ministry of heritage and Culture in the corporation with the Oman Film Society (OFS) and International Film fraternity of Oman (IFFO).

Sonam nominated for Asian Film Awards

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor is the only Indian to have been nominated for the fourth Asian Film Awards. She has been nominated in the best newcomer category for her role in ‘Delhi 6’, it has been held in Hong Kong in 22 of March 2010.

Slumdog Millionaire, a film made about the Indian kids from a slum living in the worst circumstances hogged all the limelight.

12th London Asian Film Festivals.

Bollywood fans has a great opportunity to catch there stars in UK to interact with them, who they have seen on screen. From 5-14 March 2010 all the celebrities were available at the 12th London Asian Film Festival.

Including Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Jaya Bachchan, Soha Ali Khan and her mother Sharmila Tagore.
