The Stardust Awards is an award ceremony for Hindi movies which commemorate the superstars of the new generation who will make an impact in the future. It is sponsored by Stardust (magazine). The awards first began in 2003 by the annual Stardust movie magazine. The awards celebrate new talent in the industry as well as congratulating the current stars. Farhan Akhtar and actress Asin Thottumkal bagged top honours for their performances in ‘Rock On!’ and ‘Ghajini’ respectively at the Stardust Awards 2009.
‘A Wednesday’, bagged the best film award and its director Neeraj Pandey was honored with the best director award.
