Shahid payed tribute at Filmfare

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor payed tribute to late iconic pop star Michael Jackson at the Filmfare Awards. He performed on MJ song for eight minutes.

Shahid said that I am a huge fan of Micheal Jackson, and I really miss him a lot. I attended his concert when he performed in India and I have done rehearsal for 15 days to do this concert.

55th Filfare Awards

Filmfare Best Film Awards from 2000-2009

Filmfare Awards is the most sought after awards in India.Beginning in the year 1954,Filmfare Awards witnessed some of the best films coming into limelight and getting the recognition that it deserves.
The turn of the century that is the year 2000 has its share of Awards.Let us look at some of Best Film Awards starting from the year 2000.

The Award for the Best Film in 2000 went to Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali satrring the then love couple Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai.The following year(2001) saw Kaho Na Pyaar Hai directed by Rakesh Roshan.The film was made to launch the director's son Hrithik Roshan who is now counted among the most successful stars.In the following year that is the 2002,the Best Film Award went to Lagaan directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar starring Aamir Khan.The film was nominated for the Oscars.

In 2003,this Award was won by Devdas produced by Bharat Shah.The film was made to pay tribute to the original film Devdas starring Dilip Kumar.Koi Mil Gaya won the Filmfare Best Film Award in 2004,Veer Zara starring Shahrukh Khan,Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta in 2005,Black directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali starring Amitabh Bachchan in 2006 ,Rang De Basanti in 2007,Tare Zameen Par in 2008 and finally Jodha Akbar starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in the year 2009.

Celebration for FTII

Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, student are having a celebration time, their students have 11 national awards, including the gold medal for the the best direction. The 56th National Film Awards 2008 were announced on Saturday.

Documentary 'Trip' directed by Emmanuel Palo, won the best scientific film award, it has won silver medal and cash prize of worth Rs. 50,000 to producer and director of the documentary.

The movie is basically directed on Indian railways, the most extensive railway system in the world, which takes millions of passengers every day, tonnes of aluminium, other metal, plastic and other non- biodegradable waste.

Station also directed by Palo, won the best short fiction film comprising a silver medal and cash prize of Rs. 50,000 both to the producer and director. And it was the best editing done by Manoj Kanjoth won silver medal and Rs.50,000.

Like this there are other film who has won awards like three of Us, When This Man Dies, both the producers and directors won medal cash prize of worth Rs. 50,000.

Airtel Mirchi Awards 2009

Airtel Mirchi Music 2009 held last night with radio Mirchi announcing the winners, Delhi 6 won the best song award for Masakali, nest album award, Mohit Chauhan won the best male vocalist for Masakali, Rekha Bhardwaj , won the best female vocalist for Genda Phool. AR Rehman won the best music director for Masakali and Genda Phool and Prasoon Joshi for best lyricist of the year. And Rehman also won song arranger and programmer for Masakali.



The Airtel Mirchi Listeners choice went to Iktara from Wake Up Sid and Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Khani and Raju Singh won the best background score award for raaz- The Mystery

Gulzar won the lifetime achievement award and the jury award for outstanding contribution to Hindi music went to Kersi Lord. Manna Dey won the KL Saigal Sangeet Award

Teddy international Awards 2010

Indian film-maker Sridhar Rangayan, has been invited in the jury for the Teddy Awards at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival. This awards is given for the LGBT (Lesbian, GAY, Bisexual and Transsexuals) film, award ceremony will be held on 11-12 February, 2010.



Rangayan said that it is extremely excited to be in a jury at the Berlinale, he said that "I am honoured and privileged for this jury, for this prestigious, biggest position of film festival. This is good opportunity in India for LBST films on an international platform." He added that Kashish film festival step forward.

He said that at Berlin he will make film-makers to come to Kashish Film Festival, Mumbai, to make festival international interesting.He is an independent jury, with other eight jury member and 3,000 Euro Teddy award to a feature film, short film and documentary.

Star dust Award 2010

2010 star dust awards took place in Mumbai,bollywood actor, actress and many other famous artists were there to attend the ceremony of Max Stardust Award Ceremony 2010.Programme was hosted by the celebrities and bollywood stars were performing and giving and taking awards.

Best Film of Stardust Awards 2010 was awarded to 'Chintuji', Preity Zinta for the Best Actress for the film 'Videsh', Star of the Year was Amitabh Bachcan for Paa and Kareena Kapoor won star of the Female for 'Kurbaan' and '3 Idiots'

Rahman not in Oscar

A.R.Rahman is out from Oscar this year for his song NaNa, from his Hollywood debut movie 'Couple's Retreat', it is not nominated for the Oscar awards.

Super hit composer has won Oscar and Grammy Award for his amazing composition "Jai Ho" and he first India who won two Oscar Award.



Nominees for the Original Sing Category are "Almost There from "The Princess and the frog, by Randy Newman, "Down in New Orleans" from "The Princess and the Frog," by Randy Newman; "Loin de Paname" from "Paris 36," by Reinhardt Wagner and Frank Thomas; "Take It All" from "Nine," by Maury Yeston; "The Weary Kind (Theme from Crazy Heart)" from "Crazy Heart," by Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett.

This grant ceremony will held on March 7.

Music composer A.R. Rahman and Ilayaraja named for Padma Bhushan, the nation's third highest civilian award and Rekha, Saif Ali Khan,Arundhadhati Nag sound engineer Resul Pokutty got Padma Shri.

Rahman won Grammy Award

Famous name in the world A.R. Rahman, has received best film song and best soundtrack awards for is Oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. He received Bafta and Golden Globe Award for his amazing soundtracks in the movie Slumdog Millionaire.
