The 11th International Indian Film Academy or in short the IIFA awards ceremony was organized at Sughathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo. This capital city of Sri Lanka hosted the IIFA awards this year. The grand event was hosted by Lara Dutta, Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani.

The movie 3 Idiots bagged a lot of awards and was the big winner of this awards night. Another interesting point was that there was a tie between Kareena Kapoor (3 Idiots) and Vidya Balan (Paa) for the Best Actress Award trophy.
