The inside story of IIFA

Inplace of red colour, the carpet has been now coloured in green to represent the enviroment. The organizers of the show were time conscious and grumbled up security to help the stars flee inside. Holding fashionable purses or waving or simly stuffing their manicured fingers in their Armani or Sabyasachi or Rajesh Pratap Singh or Vikram Phadnis collection they sizzled and rushed inside .

Inside the roof the performing actors rock the whole stadium. Numbered seats never seemed good. The music of Shanker Ehsaan Loy , Jermaine Jackson , the dancing diva Diya , Shamaik Davar group and the Punjabi bhangra twist gives every individual the inspiration to move and swing, clap and tap their toes.The glamour in full presentation at IIFA .Bollywood filmmaker and producer Karan Johar and actress Anushka Sharma were the main invitees too.

Shahrukh Khan represented the best technical cinematography and art direction awards with a spokesperson from the Bay and amazed the audience by quoting dialogues from his film Don. During the day the people in the downtown core near the Eaton centre had caught a glaze of the King Khan visiting the Mayor Rob Ford.Above all, the gorgeous babe, Mallika Sherawat also performed on some numbers . Bipasha Basu, Neha dhupia, walked the ramp like many others. The bhangra group RDB appealed to all ages and lot of masti was spreaded under one roof.

SRK rocked IIFA with his dance performance

The real king of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan grab the show at IIFA 2011, organized at the Roger Centre in Toronto on Saturday night, by giving out an exhilarating performance at the event with his injured knee. It is said that Shahrukh Khan left his uncountable fans and critics at the awards function with their eyes wide open with shock, when after performing on the ‘Dabangg’ number, the filmstar left the stage with bleeding knees.

Before I forget to mention, an observer at the event a person told that it was a creepy picture that came infront of all present at the event. The organizers had tailored SRK’s dancing steps in keeping with his injury. But Shahrukh completely overlooked the boundaries forced by his injury and started dancing like a crazy man. But soon after the performance was completed he just drooped out.Ace choreographer Shiamak Davar and his team had choreographed painless dance steps for the superstar. However, SRK performed enthusiastically at the IIFA, not putting much attention of easy and tough dance steps and enthralled the crowd at the event.

Shiamak also said that Shahrukh danced through his pain like a perfect dancer as if nothing had happened to him. Though he was in great pain. Ever since there have been news that Salman Khan and the Bachchans won’t be attending IIFA 2011, assumptions have been lifted that these bigwigs gave the event a miss because of Shahrukh’s presence.However, Shahrukh putting rest at the gossips mentioned that he actually don't understand what media wanted to ask. The actor also said that together they all have been under one crown several times and are always proud of all the award functions,

especially IIFA being the finest, globally and whenever they are invited, they happily attend the function. Raising question about why SRK didn’t turn up to the IIFA for past seven years, he candidly said that he knows a lot of people gossiping that why he didn’t attend IIFA for so many years, the star stated that there were no personal grudges about this issue rather he could’nt make it to IIFA just to spend enough time with his children.Well, we think that stars like SRK make IIFA an unforgettable night. The star will be starred in Ra. One with co-star Kareena Kapoor.

Hilary Swank rocked IIFA 2011

The most famous Hollywood actress Hilary Swank was present at the 2011 International Indian Film Academy Awards, organized at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada on June 25. As reported, Hilary Swank sizzled the Bollywood event, donning a red overstated sleeveless gown from Elie Saab Spring 2011 Couture collection. Hilary Swank’s gown was backless and fully embroidered that showcased her slim figure and overwhelming height.

Filmfare Awards 2011

Who will take away the best actor award Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan? Will this time SRK burn Salman's heart taking away the Filmfare awards filmfare awards. Following the blockbuster success of “Dabangg”, Salman Khan has been flooded with awards at the Star Screen and Apsara Awards.But Filmfare Awards were a tough competition where both King Khan and Salman Khan were seen battling against each other for the Best Actor award.

The Filmfare Awards is more like Shahrukh Khan’s court where till date he has been honored with thirteen awards, out of which seven were for Best Actor. Shahrukh Khan won the first Filmfare Award for the best newcomer in 1993 for the Bollywood movie “Deewana”. 56th Filmfare Awards night

It was a glittering event as all the stars shined at the 56th Filmfare Award function. Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan and the most soughted out Bollywood actress Kajol were honoured with the Best Actor and Best Actress category. The starry evening witnessed industry biggies coming together under one roof to make the event one of the most esteemed and wonderful show of the year.

Low budget movie ‘Udaan’ bagged as many as eight awards, while Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabangg’ was voted the Best Film of the year. Critics chose veteran actor Rishi Kapoor for the Best Actor Critics category for the flick ‘Do Dooni Chaar’ while Vidya Balan starrer ‘Ishqiya’ made her won the Best Actress award. Let’s have a sneak-peak at the rest of the winners, here we go with the categories and the winners- Best Director - Karan Johar for My Name is Khan, Best Debut Director - Maneesh Sharma for Band Baaja Baraat. Best Sensational Debut Male was given to Ranveer Singh again for the flick Band Bajaa Baaraat.

Best Sensational Debut Female - Sonakshi Sinha for her debut Dabangg. Best Playback Singer Female award was given to Mamta Sharma for the item song Munni Badnaam and Sunidhi Chauhan for Sheila Ki Jawaani. Best Playback Singer Male category award was bagged by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji.

Award list of 'Chak De India'

'Chak De India' was a block buster hit of the year 2007, it was a Hindi Sports Film wherein King Khan of the Bollywood town Shahrukh Khan played the lead role along with sensational Chak De Girls. 'Chak De India's story was about the Indian Women's National Hockey Team, the flick was directed by Shimit Amin and produced by Yash Raj Films.

It's screenplay was done by Jaideep Sahni. In this movie King Khan, SRK appeared as former captain of Indian Hockey Team, Kabir Khan. The movie explored the legacy of partition, religious bigotry and sexism in contemporary India with the perspective of our National Game hockey. Some media critics compared the character of Kabir Khan played by Shahrukh Khan to real-life hockey player Mir Ranjan Negi. But, the scriptwiter further clarified that he had no idea of of Negi's tribulations while writing the script, it's resemblance with Negi's life was a pure co incidence.

You would be amazed to know that, 'Chak De India' grossed Rs 639 million, it was the fourth highest grossing movie of 2007 in India. The block buster hit of the year 2007 received numerous Awards which includes National Film Award For Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment along with The Star Screen Awards and The Zee Cine Awards.

Awards’ List of Dev D

The movie Dev D was released in the year 2009. It belongs to the genre of Hindi romantic drama movies. Directed and written by Anurag Kashyap, the movie gained a lot of fame because of its modern style take on Devdas – a novel written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay.

Earlier also few movies have been made on the same novel. The recent one before Dev D was Devdas which starred Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri dixit in the lead roles. The movie Dev D starred Abhay Deol, Mahi Gill and Kalki Koechlin in the lead roles. The movie presented itself in a totally different, innovative and interesting style and won many awards. Superstars missed IIFA Awards

The International Indian Film Awards (IIFA) awards get in second controversy, as Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan did not attend the award function called by the South Indian Film industry. On the award function top three winners were not there to receive the awards.

Director Rajkumar Hirani accepted the Best Film award for 3 Idiots on behalf of producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Hirani also won the Best Director accolade for the film. Amitabh Bachchan was named for his movie Paa and Vidhya Balan played a role of mother, Kareena Kapoor and Vidhya Balan had received joint award for Best Actress award for Paa and 3 idiots.

Many fans of Amitabh Bachchan and Sharukh Khan were disappointed, Salman Khan had attended the function and enjoyed a lot. J Om Prakash received an award for his outstanding contribution to cinema from his grandson Hrithik.

Zeenat Aman got the Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema award. Vivek Oberoi received Green Globe Crusader of the year Awards for contribution towards environment. Sharman Joshi for the supporting role in 3 Idiots, Divya Dutta won for supporting role in Delhi 6. Sanjay Dutta for the comic role for All the Best.

Vivek Oberoi received the Green Globe Crusader of the Year Award for his contribution toward the environment. Pritam won best music director for Love Aaj kal. Actress Kareena Kapoor has been named India’s Most Beautiful Woman by People’s Magazine.

11th International Indian Film Academy

At the 11th International Indian Film Academy award kick off in Colombo. it was first time that the venue attracts than the stars. IIFA in Sri Lanka has created many problem, it hurts Tamil sentiments and created lots of controversies.

From this awards function, Sri Lanka government wants peace settlement between India and Sri Lanka. L Suresh said that India itself is hosting a program in Lanka while thousands of innocents have been killed.

Sri lanka is ready for IIFA

Sri Lanka is all set for IIFA Awards function, Economic Development Deputy Minister Lakshaman Yapa Abeywardena is hosting the 11th Internatioanl Indian Film Festival Award Function, it not only for the prestige of the country but it will show Sri Lanka’s development scheme as well.

More than 600 viewers will watch IIFA Award on television. Three hundred foreign media will cover from 110 countries. This will so the positive side of the country, so Sri Lanka has planned that there should not be any knid of problem in such a grand function.

From the reliable sources, Shahrukh Khan will perform at the International Indian Film awards 2010 at Colombo, Sri Lanka. Before this it was a news that Sharukh Khan will not attend IIFA Awards because he had a cold war with the brand

Shahrukh and Salman will attend IIFA

This year IIFA Awards are going to see in Colomba, Sri Lanka. There are many celebrities faces will be seen. IIFA awards are from 3 June to 5 June. Bollywood super star Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan are also going to attend the function. Shahrukh is attending IFFA Awards after five year, last he has attended in the year 2005.

said that my friends said that he could not make fun of himself. And he added that Saif Ali Khan is marvelous and great actor. Sharukh has done couple of movies with Saif Ali and he enjoyed his company.

Sharukh said that, Vidhya Balan looked ravishing, hot Bipasha Basu is awesome, Deepika Padukone and Kartina Kaif are amazing but at the same time Shahrukh missed Kareena Kapoor. He thanked everyone Kiran and Veerdas for the script, backstage girls who helped to fill the stage, famous choreographer Ganesh Hedge for his amazing choreographing. Without them it won’t be possible.


Shahid Kapoor had given tribute to Michael Jackson, on his hit dance numbers. The show was telecasted on March 7 on Sony Entertainment Television.

King Khan receives FICCI Frames 2010 Excellence Award

Bollywood super hero Shahrukh Khan was received the Global Entertainment and media Personality award at the FICCI Frames 2010 Excellence Award on Thursday.
The Global Icon of the Year award was presented to Oscar winning music director A.R. Rahman. He was thankful to FICCI for the award.

Chevrolet Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards


It was a grand event at the Chitrakoot grounds in Andheri in Mumbai and all the who's who of Bollywood were present there.The occasion was to give away The Chevrolet Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards for best performance on the big screen along with best performances on Television.

The Chevrolet Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards saw an array of Bollywood stars gathered at one place.

The highlight of the event was when Amitabh Bachchan was given the Lifetime achievement Award which was handed over to him by Akshay Kumar.

The film that bagged the most number of awards was Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal.The movie was honoured with five awards for best story(Imtiaz Ali),Best actor in a supporting role(Adajania and Dolly Ahluwalia),Best costume design(Anita Shroff),Best music(Pritam),Best male singer(Mohit Chauhan).

Shahrukh Khan was given the best actor award and the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi recieved three awards in the categories of best choreography which was won by Shaimak Dawar,Best lyrics won by Jaideep Sahini and best female singer-Shreya Goshal

Ghajni was announced as the Best film whilst taking away the awards for best director,best screenplay (given to A.R Murugadoss ) and Best editing award given to Anthony.

The award for the best female actor went to Priyanka Chopra for her film Kaminey.Shahid Kapoor was given the award for the heart throb of the nation while the female heart throb was Deepika Padukone.

The big budget movie that bombed at the box office was given its share of limelight too when it received the awards for Best sound recording and Best special effects.

Televison awards were given away too at the event with the best fictional soap being Uttran.The best reality tv show award was given to Dus Ka Dum hosted by Salman Khan.The best actor and the actress on the small screen were Ayub Khan and Tina Dutta both from the serial Uttran.

Apsara Producers' Guild Awards to be held this year


The Apsara Producers' Guild Awards will held on January 10, 2010 at Chitrakoot Grounds, Mumbai. Shahrukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, will be grooving the stage with their performances. Stars felicitated with V Shantaram awards

At the 50th Anniversary of V Shantaram's classic Navrang, several stars were felicitated with the V Shantaram annual film awards. Shahrukh Khan for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Saif Ali Khan for Love Aaj Kal, John Abraham for New York, Mohanlal for Bhramaram, Prakash Raj for Kanchivaram and Upendra Limaye for Jogva, Marathi were nominated for best actor category. Whereas, Rani Mukherjee won the Best Actress V Shantaram award for her film Dil Bole Haddipa.

The V Shantaram Awards are basically instituted in honor of the legendary "Dr. V. Shantaram" to award cinematic excellence by V Shantaram Foundation.
Sandhya, the legendary actress who acted as the lead heroine of V Shantaram's classics including Navrang, Do Ankhen Barah Hath and Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje, was also honoured at the function.

Bollywood producer and director Yash Chopra alongwith Kiran Shantaram graced the V Shantaram Awards 2009 ceremony here in Mumbai. Kanchivaram that depicted the story of a silk weaver, received the best film Gold award and Priyadarshan bagged the Best director Gold prize for the same flick. Filmfare Awards bestowed upon Amitabh Bachchan

The Filmfare Best Actor Award is given by Filmfare as part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Hindi (Bollywood) films, to recognise a male actor who has delivered an outstanding performance in a leading role. The award was first instituted in 1954.

Amitabh Bachchan have four wins in this category. In 1978 for film, Amar Akbar Anthony , in 1979 for Don, 1992 for Hum, and in 2006 for Black.

Dilip Kumar also holds the record for most consecutive wins from 1956 to 1958. Five other actors have won the award in consecutive years; in chronological order, they are Rajesh Khanna (1972-72),Sanjeev Kumar (1976-77), Amitabh Bachchan (1978-79), Naseeruddin Shah (1981-82) and Shahrukh Khan (1998-99).

Amitabh Bachchan holds the record for most Best Actor nominations, with 26, followed by Dilip Kumar and Shahrukh Khan, who have 19 and 18 nominations respectively.

Bachchan and Khan also hold the record for most number of Best Actor nominations in a single year, having been nominated thrice in 1979 and 2005 respectively.


Amitabh has won maximum 3 Filmfare Awards in Supporting Actor Male Category also. First,in 1972 for Aanand, 1974 for Namak Haraam and finally in 2001 for Mohabattein.

In 1990, he became the first recipient of Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2000, he won the Superstar of the Millennium.In 2001, Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance for Aks and in 2003

Filmfare Power Award also went to him.

Hindi Films that won 55th National Awards

The verdict of the 55th National Awards for the year 2007 were announced and like always there were quite a few surprises in store. It was the cinema of South India that bagged all the top honours with the Priyadarshan directed Tamil film Kanchivaram bagging the award for Best Feature Film and also fetching Prakash Raj the Best Actor Award.

While Bollywood failed to bag the top four honours, it did quite make up in the other categories. Anil Kapoor's production, Gandhi My Father bagged three awards for Best Screenplay (Feroz Abbas Khan), Best Supporting Actor (Darshan Jariwala) and even won the Special Jury award.

Even Aamir Khan's directorial debut Taare Zameen Par made its mark. The film won awards for Shankar Mahadevan (Best Male Playback Singer) and Prasoon Joshi (Best Lyrics) for the soul-stirring song 'Maa', besides also bagging the Best Film on Family Welfare award.

King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan bagged award for Best Film providing Overall Entertainment in the name of Chak De India, Om Shanti Om bagged the award for Best Art Direction (Sabu Cyril). Well deserved...

Rituparno Ghosh's Big B- Arjun Rampal starrer The Last Lear bagged two awards winning the Best Feature Film in English and also fetching Shefali Shah the Best Supporting Actress award while the Shahid- Kareena smash-hit Jab We Met also bagged two awards for Best Choreography and Best Female Playback Singer (Shreya Ghoshal).

The Indira Gandhi award for the Best First Film of a Director went to Frozen while the Nargis Dutt award for Best Film on National Integration went to the Pankaj Kapoor starrer Dharm.

The National Awards has surely brought some really well deserved honours.

National Awards leave SRK,AMIR KHAN disappointed

Tamil actor Prakash Raj, won the best actor award in the National Awards for the year 2007. This is his first award in the Best Actor Category. Even the movie 'Knachivaram' bagged the best movie award especially when 'Chak De India' and 'Taare Zameen Par' and 'Gandhi My Father'were also competing.Although the top four awards at the 55th National Awards for the year 2007 were won by Malayalam cinema, Bollywood also fared reasonably well.

Both SRK and Amir were left disappointed to not get the Best Actor award after there spectacular performance in 'Chak De India' and 'Taare Zameen Par' respectively. But some celebration was also in store for them. Sharukh Khan's movie 'Chak De India' won the National Award for Best Overall Entertainment. Amir's movie Taare Zameen Par, also got it’s due. The film won the Best Family Welfare Entertainment award. Playback singerShankar Mahadevan won the award for the song ‘Meri Maa’ from the film ‘Taare Zameen Par’.Lyricist Prasoon Joshi won in Best Lyrics category for Taare Zameen Par.
