Mother India, among the first cinematic presentations of brave Indian womanhood going back to the era of 1950’s. The movie made it into the top five foreign flick nominees as well. Though movies from India are tagged with acclaims, critics mention conceivably Indian producers have not been able to give what it takes in the finales, the influential of the jury, the build-up to the finals. Moreover, the biggest anticipation was penned here. Aamir Khan and Grcy Sing starrer Lagaan was a blockbuster on the commercial face, and won critical praise too.
