Music composer A.R. Rahman and Ilayaraja named for Padma Bhushan, the nation's third highest civilian award and Rekha, Saif Ali Khan,Arundhadhati Nag sound engineer Resul Pokutty got Padma Shri.
Super star Aamir Khan also receive Padma Bhuhan Award. In 2008, Rahman received Oscar award for the success of movie Danny Bolye's Slumdog Millionaire and he the first citizen to do so.
Apart from all these A.R. Rahaman received British Academy of Film nd Television (BAFTA) Awards and four National Film Awards and thirteen Filmfare Awards.Apart from the Oscars, Rahman has also been awarded with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award, four National Film Awards and 13 Filmfare awards
