Dabbang emerged as the winner at IIFA

Salman Khan starrer "Dabangg", which was 2010’s biggest Bollywood success, was considered as the best movie at the sizzling 12th International Indian Film Academy awards held in Toronto. The action-comedy genre received seven awards. Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan was named the best male actor for his performance as an asperger patient in Karan Johar's "My Name Is Khan", while Anushka Sharma bagged the best female actress award for her energetic performance of a wedding planner in "Band Baaja Baraat".

Paying tributes to Yash Johar, whose seventh death anniversary falls Sunday, SRK said that he’s honored that he could receive this award on this day. SRK also said that he have received so much love that he felt as if he belongs to Toronto. KaranJohar, who got the best filmmaker award for "My Name Is Khan" and said that this is his first IIFA award. On the whole, “Dabangg" got seven awards, including best female debut for Sonakshi Sinha too.

RanvirSingh won the award for best debut male award for "Band Baaja Baaraat". The award for male supporting role went to Arjun Rampal for playing a politician in the political thriller "Raajneeti" that also starred Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. PrachiDesai won the trophy for female supporting role for her performace in "Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai". Whereas, MamtaSharma won the award for best female playback singer for her song "Munni Badnaam hui" from "Dabanng".

Stars spotted in Toronto

Some of Bollywood film industry’s biggest stars reached Toronto on Tuesday to attend this week's International Indian Film Academy Awards and festival. Crowd of fans studded themselves at Pearson airport's international approaching area to welcome bigwigs like Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Sonu Sood and many others.One of the fan present at the airport said that she always followed the IIFA shows. Coming to the IIFA was a huge thing because it happens once in a lifetime. Similar feedback is expected later this week when baadshah Shahrukh Khan will come in town.

Shahrukh KhanBubbly actress Dia Mirza arrived the town on Tuesday and asserted that she's excited to be a part of this mega event. Actor Zayed Khan said Toronto is the perfect place to organize the event.Mob of crazy fans, cameras set to hit the click button, to catch a gaze of arriving Bollywood celebrities. Having IIFA in Toronto this year helps to feel a special connection to the stars homeland. Banners and billboards promoting the IIFA Awards and festival are pasted around Toronto, with events also taking place in the nearby cities like Mississauga, Brampton and Markham respectively.

The yearly celebration of Indian's gigantic film fraternity is projected to attract almost 40 thousand audiences to the Greater Toronto Area, with more than six hundred million TV viewers globally expected to take in Saturday's awards broadcast single-handedly.So guys, don’t give IIFA a miss this time. It’s gonna rock!!

The International Indian Film Academy

The International Indian Film Academy also called as IIFA Awards, are bestowed every year by the International Indian Film Academy to encourage both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in Bollywood film fraternity. Organized in 2000, the IIFA Award function was held in different countries around the globe. This award ceremony has been organized by Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd which is one of India’s premier event management and entertainment agency.

The awards began in 2000 and the first event took place in the heart of London at The Millennium Dome. From then on the awards were organized at locals worldwide showcasing the international success of Bollywood. The next award ceremony will be taking place in Toronto, Canada, from June 23-25, 2011.These awards credit movies from the past calendar year. Actor Amitabh Bachchan has been the Brand Ambassador of the IIFA until 2010 where took retirement from the post due to much controversy that rose in Sri Lanka,

and appointed Salman Khan. In 2009, Star of the decade both male and female category, Movie of the decade, Music of the decade, and Director of the decade.Shahrukh Khan starrer Kal Ho Na Ho released in 2003 until that time apprehended the record for the most number of wins in an award function. Indian Awards

The Indian film fraternity is the much aged and the biggest in the world with over 12 hundred films released every year. The chief film production centres were Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore. The history of Indian Cinema can be searched back to 1896 when the most popular of all Lumiere Brothers' of France presented 6 soundless brief flicks in Bombay. By the year 1899 as the time passed, Harishchandra Bhatvadekar made India's first short movie. Dhundiraj Govind Phalke who was basically acknowledged as “Dada Saheb Phalke” produced India's first full length silent movie, 'Raja Harishchandra', in the year 1913.

From the 1940's to the late 1950's, the movies with their awareness on pulsating song and dance, were for many, the most unforgettable in Indian film history. Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar and Muhammed Rafi to name a few are the playbacksingers who ruled the Hindi film industry since ages. Indian film awards and its sheen

The Indian Film industry is awarded by numerous Production and Television channels in positive reception of their arduous hard work and entertaining the whole world with the huge number of movies produced world wide every year. The IIFA Awards is one such instance, where the Indian film fraternity is awarded on the international level. Indians films still have a long way to reach Oscar Awards. Salaam Bombay, Lagaan and Mother India, were all only one of its kind, avoiding profitable application all in all. Market analyst and critics discussed of a balance, the award or commercial exaltation.

Zee Cine Awards 2011

As reported Zee Cine Awards 2011, are the biggest awards in Bollywood film fraternity. The Marina Bay Sands in Singapore organized the Zee Cine Awards 2011. Zee Cine Award is Bollywood’s only audience’s choice award which has accomplished its twelve years now. This year too the award function was hosted against the dramatic milieu of Asia’s most favored place Marina Bay Sands. This award function is too held on a large scale in Bollywood since years.

Zee Cine Awards was not being held at a big outdoor setting but was organized in indoor in the Sands Grand Ballroom, which was considered to be the biggest one in South East Asia. It is said that the ballroom can hold a facility of 11,000 delegates. The arena as reported was custom and was made from scratch in a manner that guaranteed most favorable contest from each seat. The building of the ballroom is designed by Moshe Safdie and is bigger in scale than anything that has ever been built in Singapore.

The event introduced Akshay Kumar as the horde for the first time along with successful filmmaker Sajid Khan. Bollywood baadshah Shahrukh Khan bagged the award for Best Actor for My Name Is Khan, the most sensational actress Chopra, actor Rampal and many more bollywood celebrities also performed at the show. Dabangg received the Best Film award at the event, while for the Best Actress category Vidya Balan bagged it for her outstanding performance in Ishqiya.

Filmfare Awards

The Filmfare Awards are given once a year by The Times Group to credit both creative and technical brilliance of skilled persons in the Hindi film industry of India. The Filmfare function is one of the oldest and most important movie events given for Hindi flicks in India. The filmfare awards were initially brought into existence in 1954, the same time as the National Film Awards.

To rejoice the 25th year of the awards the figurine were made in silver and to celebrate the 50th year the effigy were made in gold. As of in the year 2010, there were thirty seven awards. There is a detached category of film-critics awards, that was decided by noted film-critics relatively trendy votes. Short history of IIFA Awards

The International Indian Film Academy established the IIFA or the International Indian Film Academy awards late in 2000 to be offered to commendable aptitude in imaginative and technological turfs in Bollywood cinema.
