Filmfare Awards

The Filmfare Awards are given once a year by The Times Group to credit both creative and technical brilliance of skilled persons in the Hindi film industry of India. The Filmfare function is one of the oldest and most important movie events given for Hindi flicks in India. The filmfare awards were initially brought into existence in 1954, the same time as the National Film Awards.

The Clares was the inventive name of the award procedure, named after The Times of India critic Clare A Mandy. Ii is reported that in the first awards event, organized on 21 March 1954 at the Metro Theatre of Mumbai, India, merely five awards were offered which were Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Music Director. Do Bigha Zameenwas the first film to win the award for Best Film category. Bimal Roywas bestowed the award for his direction of Do Bigha Zameen, Dilip Kumar was honoured with the arwas for his outstanding acting skill in Daag, whereas, actress Meena Kumari was given the award for her brilliant piece of acting in Baiju Bawra..

In the year 1995 superhit film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge bagged 10 filmfare awards, in 2005, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directed Black bagged 11 awards and Madhuri Dixit, Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai starrer Devdas which was released in 2002 also received 10 filmfare awards. To rejoice the 25th year of the awards the figurine were made in silver and to celebrate the 50th year the effigy were made in gold. As of in the year 2010, there were thirty seven awards. There is a detached category of film-critics awards, that was decided by noted film-critics relatively trendy votes. This twin configure has also produced some hullabaloo amongst the audiences and addressee.
