Short history of IIFA Awards

The International Indian Film Academy established the IIFA or the International Indian Film Academy awards late in 2000 to be offered to commendable aptitude in imaginative and technological turfs in Bollywood cinema. These awards are given away every year and their award function is apprehended in diverse countries to emphasize the significance of Bollywood film fraternity worldwide.

The first function was organized in London, at the Millenium Dome and from that time the awards have been presented in South Africa, Thailand, Republic of Singapore, The Netherlands, UAE, Malaysia and Macau respectively. In the meantime lets peep into the history of IIFA. In the year 2002, IIFA was identified as Electrolux Kelvinator IIFA and in 2003 to 2005 IIFA was known with the name of Kelvinator IIFA and Samsung IIFA. The main aim of IIFA awards is to endorse Indian Cinema globally. Asians in international film world and Indians worldwide are all welcomed with open arms here.

IIFA awards portray the main role in expanding its social and economic relations with other nations around the world. The two IIFA categories are Technical Awards and Popular Awards. Indian Cinema has always been a remedy for all pains and sufferings . Entertainment has many forms songs, dance and storytelling. The Indian Cinema has its support in Mumbai and it is mainly known as Bollywood. Other nations are still not familiar with other regional flicks. But special attention is given to held IIFA awards in different countries as a lot of Indian population is in Western countries too. Apsara Awards, Stardust Awards, Filmfare Awards and many others are well known in the Bollywood industry.
