58th National Film Awards

The 58th National Film Awards is one of the best awards night in the Hindi film fraternity. It is presented to the best of Indian Cinemas released during the year 2010. 58th National Film Awards has been announced on Thursday. It has been speculated from the close sources that bollywwood movie Daggang bagged the National Film Award for being last year's most popular film left behind the good bollywood movies, Chulbul Pandey and his funny moves has impressed everyone and held to won the award. Vishal Bharadwaj's Ishquiya's music were rated the best among many and grab the National Award.

The Malyalam film Adaminte Makan Abu (Abu, son of Adam) which was voted as the Best Film Award fot the year 2010 which indirectly indicates that the awards trend shifting back from the popular to art-house cinema. The Salim (Adaminte Makan Abu's) actor was playing comical roles was very impressive with his brilliant serious role which helped him in bagging the best actor award this year. He shared his award with Dhanush (Aadukalam), son-in-law of Rajinikanth, for his raw, nuanced portrayal of a cocky young man who learns lessons about life the hard way. The Cannes International Film Festival 2011

The Cannes International Film Festival 2011 is one of the most attractive and prestigious film awards in the Film Industry. This year Bollywood is representing India. Through the close sources it has been speculated the opening ceremony have been started with MID Night In Paris's director Woody Allen. Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards 2011

Bollywood’s stunning beauty the yesteryears actress Rekha looked just beautiful beyond imagination in ivory tissue saree and golden brocade sleeveless blouse attending the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards 2011 at Bhaidas Hall in Vile Parle, Mumbai recently. Evergreen as always, still considered as one of the most glamorous Indian actress, Rekha was a real treat for everyone present at the award night looking smashing in her striking, old Bollywood styling signature scarlet glower, sophisticated eye makeup, perfect matching jewelry and last but not the least saree. The diva came in at the night, accompanied by her long time secretary Farzana. Rekha’s outfit was gracefully tied over a sleeveless blouse with a modern neckline.Her sparkling trimmings included loaded strappy sandals, sea shell golden purse, statement earrings, nose ring, matching bunch of bangles in both her arms and what not. The veteran actress ‘s tangled hair gushed down the right shoulder. Crimson lipstick, smoky eye makeup, eye lash additions and red nailpolish rounded her babe avtaar. Rekha was seated next to the most honourable Bollywood star Dharmendra during the event and presented the actor with Phalke Ratan, in acknowledgment of his over five decades in Hindi film industry.



Rekha showed her gratitude to the actor by touching his feet after giving him the award and Dharmendra happily blessed her by placing his hand on her head. Rekha was supposed to perform at the event, but couldn’t make it for some reasons.Other than this the Om Shaanti Om fame Deepika Padukone was given away the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for her performance in 7 Khoon Maaf, even though the movie had a great fall. Likewise, for giving outstanding performance in No One Killed Jessica, actress Rani Mukherjee bagged the award. In a way to encourage the new faces in the film industry Dadaphalke award was also given to Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh for their good attempt in Band Baaja Baraat.

Indian Film Industry Awards

Indian Film Industry is vogue for its Production Houses and various blockbusters,not only in India but in Western countries too. The industry is known for its indefatigable work in entertaining the masses and the huge number of films produced every year.From this came the countdown for conferring awards to deserved,first of its form came with Film are awards, which even today is considered as the highest level among all awards. then after Government of India issued awards like Dadasaheb Phalk awards named after the father of Indian cinema, to promate films in India. Further in the list were Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards and so on.

Dadasaheb Phalke Award To Dharmendra

Dharmendra is one of the handsome actor in Bollywood industry. He have a unique personality, which is liked by all till now. On Tuesday dated 3-May-2011 Dharmendra was awarded by the most precious award in film industry, he was awarded by Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Dharmendra is very experienced man in this industry, who has been awarded by Phalke Ratna for his contribution to the Hindi film industry spanning five decades.

Dadasaheb Phalke award for Kailasam Balachander

Kailasam Balachander has directed many movies in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Telgu, and Hindi. He is a good director, producer and screen-writer. Many stars had worked with him like Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth. K Balachander is selected for "Dadasaheb Phalke award", for his fearless and fresh treatment of subjects as diverse as divorce and political dramas. This award consists 10 Lakh rupees, a Swarn Kamal and a shawl which are to be given for best contribution to growth and development of Indian cinema by the information and broadcasting ministry.

K Balachander is second person who gets this award in Tamil film industry. The first person in this industry who got this award was Sivaji Ganesan in 1996. This 81 year old legend has been in this industry for more than 45 years. He gave some stars in film industry like Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Sridevi, Jayaprada and Prakash Raj. More than hundred movies were written or directed by this legendary person. After hearing news about this award Kamal Hassan told that this award is given very late to K Balachander. He is very great person of this industry who really deserves this award.

This great personality also receives "Padam Shri" award in 1987. He also receive "Kalaimamani Award" in year 1973, two times "Nargis Dutt Award for National Integration" and "ANR National Award" in year 2011. K Balachander's main movies in Tamil are: Apoorva Raagangal in year 1975, Avargal in year 1977, Varumayin Niram Sigappu in 1980, 47 Natkal in year 1981 and Sindhu Bhairavi in year 1985. He gave many hit serial which are liked by all like: Kai Alavu Manasu, Kadhal Pagadai, Premi and Jannal Anni. His wife name is Rajam, and have three children two son and a daughter.

Rao will join the jury team

Gitanjali Rao who has already won the Kodak Discovery Award for her best short film at the Cannes Film Festival in the year 2006, for ‘The Printed Rainbow’. Now she has been invited to join the jury for this year. This 64th Cannes Film Festival will start from May 11 to May 22, 2011. Gitanjali Rao will be on jury of the Kodak Discovery Award for short films. After this announcement, she said that she is very thrilled to be on the Kodak jury of the Cannes festival.

The award is presented by the Semaine International de la Critique (SIC, International Critics’ Week), a prestigious parallel section of the Cannes festival open only to first and second films. Gitanjali Rao's 'Printed Rainbow', an exquisite, feminist animation film about an old woman and her cat who escapes into a dream world inspired by matchbox labels, made a spectacular debut at Cannes in 2006. It scooped up three awards for best short film in the Critics' Week - the Kodak Discovery Award, the Rail d'Or and Young Critics' Award. The film traveled to over 100 international festivals and won 27 awards. Gitanjali Rao is the first Indian animation film director to be invited on the Kodak Discovery Award jury.
