Apsara Awards night rocked

Ramesh Sippy, President of the Guild asserted that the Apsara Awards are only one of the kind in the fact that the winners are chosen from within the industry. He also showed his gratitude mentioning that it is an honour that the industry is blessed with making Apsara Awards a different league of awards in itself.

The star-studded night at Chevrolet Apsara Awards 2011 brought the stars of the Indian Entertainment industry under one roof. This blissful night saw the Raaja and Raani of the Indian Film Fraternity along with Television actresses and charmers walk the red carpet in their most glamorous look ever noticed. Spirits were high as all the viewers present at the award function cheered on Priyanka Chopra’s outstanding performance on Bollywood’s hit numbers, Chi-chi’s tribute performance on veteran actor Dharmendra and Shahrukh Khan’s grand finale performance.

Katrina Kaif burned the dance floor to fire for the first time on her hit item song ‘Sheila Ki Jawaani’ from the film Tees Maar Khan which also won two awards for Best Choreography that was given to Farah Khan and Best Female Singer award was bagged by Sunidhi Chauhan. Vidya Balan for ‘Ishqiya’ shared the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role with Anushka Sharma who danced on her song ‘Ainvayi Ainvayi’ from the film ‘Band Baja Baraat’ which also bagged three awards. On the top priority,

Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabangg’ maintained the graph scoring the highest points and dekhte hi dekhte it bagged seven awards for Best Actor, Best Film, Best Music, Best Male Singer, Best Female Singer and last but not the least Best Performance in Negative Role. Small budget flicks like Anusha Rizvi’s Peepli Live won the award for Best Story , Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? Won the award for Best Performance in a Comic Role that went to Paresh Rawal (the comedy king) and Love Sex Aur Dhoka won the award for Best Sound Recording.
